Hello dear forum members,
I've been in a bit of a conundrum as to which schools to apply for my Master's degree.
I'm very interested in either strategic management with a focus on entrepreneurship (got some xp doing the patent/fundraising bit for an idea of mine - turned out to a bit of a downer when the major investor told us to drop out of school and work on it full time if he was going to sign on the dotted for 2 mill dollars). I would love to join private equity and re-create some of that magic by helping others and sharing.
However, there is also a small part in me that wants to learn as much as possible about this subject of finance. I have a bachelors degree majoring in finance and my exchange experience has taught me quite a bit more and piqued my interest in the more mathematical and theoretical side. I do not believe I have the math skills to be able to take up quantitative finance though and thus I am here to ask you guys a bit more.
Are there any schools in your opinion that strike a good balance between theoretical education and practicality in the field of finance? I would love to have good teachers who are enthusiastic about teaching rather than some guy/lady who is forced to do it!
I'm from Asia and the drive for grades here is a bit stifling - I found it hard to learn when it seemed like everyone just wanted to be one better than you. I know its like that all over the world - but some parts in Asia are quite over the top. I would preferably want to go to some good European business schools that offer a master's in finance where I could learn the theoretical aspects of it and enjoy my experience as well!
Did some research and I came across some of these schools - I would love if some of you kind souls could offer an insight into any of the schools listed below or even about those not listed. I am looking for advice/knowledge about teaching methodology/atmosphere of the classes/friendliness of fellow students and probably reputation of the schools as well. Thank you all so much!!
