Hi! My name is Julia and I'am currently preparing to apply for MSc in Management in Europe or Asia. And here lies a huge challenge for me: which bschool to choose to work in ASIA ( China, Singapore, Hong Kong or Seoul mainly) after graduation.
After reading hundreds of comments here and on other forums, I found out that to get a good job in Asia you MUST graduate from european or american school. But I do not consider applying to US school, so I need help to clear my mind where exactly to go in Europe.
My first choice is SIM in St Gallen Uni. But is it as highly recognized in Asia as in Germany? I heard for example that many asian recruiters do not know HEC. Their preferences rather go to Oxford said bschool, LBS graduates. Is it true talking about consultancy and asian based multinationals?
And what about Warwick, ESADE reputation in Asia? or maybe there are some other bschools which I did not take into consideration but which have value in Asia?
Also I came across double degree programs with asian school like HEC -Tsinghua University School of Economics; St Gallen Uni - Singapore School of Management; is it a better choice?
Or maybe it is better to go to National Uni of Singapore or HKUST or Peking Uni and take double degree program with some european school? (My friends told me that still they have some difficulties in finding good job, but if I am a foreigner maybe I have better
chances? ) or CEMS for example? or still it is not as much recognized as having european diploma?

Anyways, I've heard Seoul is incredibly tough for a foreigner to find a job from a friend that studied abroad there, whereas HK will generally require Mandarin + Cantonese for most client facing roles. Something back-office shouldn't be as much as a problem, and I'm sure HKU would get you there. I've also heard there's a lot of French professionals in HK, so French business schools with connections might help. I also know one of the reputable schools (ESSEC maybe?) has a Singaporean campus. Singapore's probably the easiest for a foreigner to break into, taking into consideration the language. With Asian schools, the issue arises in regards to whether they have good master in management programs, as it's primarily a European thing. However, sans a very international brand name Oxford/Cambridge/LSE, I think NUS would probably offer you one of the easiest paths to work in Singapore. It's not like every IB/Consulting job is occupied by people educated in non-Singaporean universities (or even the majority). The real source of difficulty will be remaining competitive with the Singaporean students, who are known to work hard.
Given you mentioned consulting as an interest, I'd also like to bring up that Singapore does prefer to have their consultants equipped with some local Asian languages, though it's not an absolute requirement. This information was obtained from checking out some regional homepages of MBB (I think Bain). I'm not certain about Asian-based MNCs, though I'm unsure why you're limiting yourself to only Asian-based ones. For instance, I'm sure a reasonable path to working in SG/HK would be Copenhagen Business School > Maersk > Internal Transfer/Graduate Program with international rotations. They have a lot of business in the region.
