Profile Evaluation for MS Finance

Question

Hello everyone,

I am from Nepal and plan to do Masters in Finance from the U.S. I am giving my GMAT next week but wanted to make up my mind on the colleges so that I could send them the scores earlier.

3- year bachelors degree from India - 87% agg( 3.39 CGPA, the college used its own system for GPA calculation)
1 previous internship and currently working in Nepal
I aim to score 700+ on the GMAT.
I am looking at Investment Banking jobs in the US.

The college list for MS Financeas follows:

MIT Sloan
Simon - Uni of Rochester 
Boston College
University of Florida
Boston University

I havent included Vanderbilt and Purdue because they do not accept 3 years Bachelors degree.

I was wondering if you could evaluate this profile and let me know if I should add any other college to this list considering the fact that I am looking for employment in the US.

UF is closed to non-UF undergrads. MIT is going to be most likely out of reach. Boston University has a Finance Math program I believe so up to you if you want to apply.

I'd probably sway Rochester and go with UIUC or Tulane. Bigger cities for interning and networking. Boston College will be within reach depending on your GMAT.

Focus on the test right now as that will be the biggest element of your profile. Good luck!

thank you MSFHQ. i just wanted know which 5 colleges I should select for the 5 free scores. I should get close to 700 and I preferably want to work in some big city like New York.

where do you think I should send my scores?

I gave my test today and got 640 (Q47 V31). Can anyone suggest which colleges I should apply to? Would really appreciate any inputs. Thank you.

640, 3.4 gpa. I'd apply to Rochester. Ohio State, Johns Hopkins. SMU if you want Texas exposure. UIUC will be great for Chicago. Villanova might take a look at you. Baruch has a new program.

Nationality: Indian
Course: MSc Finance
GPA: 9.19/10
GMAT: 620 (Q49, V26) expect it to increase at least to 680 on a retake.
Work Experience: 6months equity trader, 1-month equity research internship
Undergrad: Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics ( Bachelors in Financial Markets )
ECs - Yt Football related channel with 30k subs (If it helps)

The problem is I complete my undergrad in July 2019. Got the job in Nov 2019 but lost it in April 2019 due to covid. I got into the Frankfurt School of finance and mgt(Masters in finance) without a scholarship. I am thinking of taking 1 more gap, in that year I will improve my GMAT to at least 680, will have 6 months of experience in IB(internship) and will give my CFA in November. Do you think so that because it will almost 3 years since I have completed my undergrad, this 1 year will have a negative impact on my profile and chances of getting into good colleges in Europe and Canada(Mcgill MMF)?

Target college - RSM Msc Fin and Inv, SSE MSc Fin, Mcgill MMF.
Do you guys think so that it is worth waiting 1 more year for these colleges When I have already got into Frankfurt school?
I will be 23 by the time the Frankfurt school program starts and will be 24 by the program starts next year. Do you think my age will be an issue because MSC finance is usually a pre-experience program?
