Hey Criaro,
ESSEC has a very good Brand Name, so both the Paris-campus and the Singapore-campus are good choices for a career change to Investment Banking.
Choosing the Paris Campus would be better because of 2 reasons:
1) ESSEC’s primary branch is in Paris. Hence it has been around for a longer time as compared to the Singapore branch and has garnered a better reputation. It also has a bigger repute and more industry connections.
2) Getting a job in Singapore is tougher because of its tough immigration laws. Getting a job in Paris, however, is relatively easier if you’ve stayed in Paris for a year because of its more lenient immigration scenario, and also since ESSEC is considered a Grande-Ecole school, which increases the value it adds to your resume.
One thing to note here is that since you are an engineer with 0 years of work experience in Finance, it is not a smart idea to pitch an interest in Investment Banking in your application and essays.
As for Alumni, you can go on LinkedIn and find several alumni who you can connect with. Many Investment Banking giants hire ESSEC students, so it won’t be difficult to find the alumni.
You can take up our profile evaluation to get a better understanding of your chances at ESSEC
