Hello there,
I just gave my GMAT and unfortunately, I scored low on verbal and high on quant - 670 ( Q50, V31, IR7). How does my verbal score affect me to get into a good old msba program?
Background:
Indian, Male, 24
Graduated from IIT Kanpur with 7.4 cgpa;
Work Ex (Total 2+ years):
Currently working as Marketing Analyst In a edtech startup) from the last year.
I was planning to do MS in business analytics after starting my career in core marketing and then slightly shifting to the current role which involves data analysis . So if someone can guide whether I should retake GMAT or is there any possibility of getting any good college at this score.

Hi Akshay,
To answer your question about low verbal, I don't think it matters a lot, especially in your case. You have chosen to pursue a quant heavy course so for that quant is what matters more. In fact, some MSBA courses have a prerequisite for candidates to have a background in calculus, statistics and related courses. Therefore, I wouldn't worry about that much.
Having said that, whether you should go for another GMAT attempt or not will depend on your target school list entirely. Usually, for Indian candidates, a 700 score seems safer but it can increase or decrease based on your target schools. Which country/universities are you targeting? If you need any help in school shortlisting do let me know.

These were my five programs I submitted - a mix of old, cheaper, new programs. Well, that was my initial shortlisting criteria.

Keeping in mind that I already know that the actual application also matters whereas score is only a factor.
