Hello, could someone please evaluate my profile for University of Mannheim MiM and University of Cologne International Management CEMS.

I am from Turkey, and I am 23 years old.
I graduated from the department of International Trade and Business.
My IELTS score is 7.
I studied 2 semester in abroad with Erasmus Exchange Program. (PORTUGAL)
My GPA is 3.42/4.
I am the founder of the university camping community and I organized more than 10 camps all around the Turkey.
I am national athlete in Turkish Kickboxing and Taekwondo Team.
I got Bronze Medal in 2015 European Kickboxing Championship and 6th place in the World Championship in 2016.
I worked in the USA for total of 1 year with Work and Travel Program. ( as a waiter )
I worked online 2 months for a company from Poland.
I will take the GMAT soon but I am struggling with the verbal part. My Quant is 47-48, but I take 20-25 in the Verbal part. so probably my overall score will be low.

Could you tell me my chances for those school i mentioned .
Thank you so much :)

Hey Ilkkan06!

First off I would like to say that you have a pretty decent profile and some really interesting achievements. To commence your profile evaluation with your academic background, your GPA of 3.42 not only displays your academic prowess but also opens a lot of opportunities and doors to top business schools for you. You have also mentioned that you studied 2 semesters in Portugal with Erasmus Exchange Program, this vouches for your international exposure, which most B-schools prefer as it could help bring to the table a varied perspective and the ability to adapt.

Coming on to your work experience, you haven’t mentioned the organisations’ names, but in case it’s not a global brand, you would be required to focus on the kind of roles you have undertaken, the projects you undertook, and the positive impact you were able to create during your stint. Thus, effectively showcasing your work ex can help you establish in the minds of the admission's committee that you are no less than your competition who would most likely be Big 4 candidates. Additionally gaining international exposure through your work further bolsters your profile by providing you with an opportunity to showcase your broadened horizons and the ability to succeed and adapt in foreign environments.

Moving on, extracurricular participation plays an important role in strengthening your applications as B-schools are on the hunt for all-rounder profiles. Seeing your extra-curricular activities, I’d say you have varied endeavors on this end, which portrays your proactive attitude. Being a founder of the university camping community showcases your strong leadership skills which you can pitch in your application. Also participating in various sports definitely highlights your determination and fighting spirit. Additionally, you can also take up volunteering work at local shelters or join certain clubs and organizations where you’d be able to showcase your socially empathetic attitude.

Coming to your GMAT, I would recommend targeting a minimum of 660 to ensure that you stand at par with your competition.

Given your school choices, University of Mannheim and University of Cologne come under the dream category where your chances of acceptance will be 40-50%. Furthermore, since you are applying for a highly competitive program such as MIM, applying to simply two business schools is not an optimal strategy, hence you can also check out some of the top schools such as FSFM, WHU, ESMT, HHL, EBS.

While you have good profile elements one important aspect you need to focus on is to complement your profile with an equally strong application. An application through its various components such as essays, LORs and SOPs would help you to highlight your strengths and give apt justifications for your weaknesses to smooth over any flaws in your profile. Moreover, the application acts as the window through which the admission committee can peer into your skills, calibre and your personality.

That said, since the major chances of your admission depend on the quality of your application, you might want to seek professional help to secure your spot in your target schools. That said, having helped over 2500+ applicants get into their dream schools, you can thus check out our, All-in-One Solution, to gain insights into how we can assist you in creating an application that could boost your chances of acceptance by a minimum of 3x.
