Scholar Strategy is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. RUN AWAY and run fast. And spread the word!
If you want to lose a year, hard earned money and feel like you have been conned, do go ahead and sign up for her services.
Summary of my experience with Nishtha Tripathi:
1. Super rude and angry on call. She is unwilling to spend any extra time brainstorming or answering queries on call. The time that she did give was spent being rude and finishing the call in a hurried manner. I was left feeling like “Is this how you treat a paying customer? That too someone whose future you have a part to play in?”
2. She does not give personalized support custom to your candidature. SHE ASKS YOU TO FOLLOW A STANDARD TEMPLATE for SOPs and at max, edits it.
3. She will give HIGHLY INACCURATE CLASSIFICATION of whether a university is Ambitious, Stretch or Safe for you. I’m guessing she saves time and doesn’t study her clients fully before giving any such recommendation. Or worse, she herself doesn’t know what is easy or tough to get into. I suffered greatly because of this.
4. I applied to 8+ schools that cycle and got rejected by EVERY SINGLE ONE.
5. She offered to refund half my money. When I requested that she refund the full amount as I had lost out on an entire year, she REFUSED TO REFUND ANYTHING AT ALL saying she had re considered and that she doesn’t take any personal responsibility about whether you get in or not

I am sorry to hear of your experience, dudewheresmycar. The only other review I could turn up on this site about ScholarStrategy was written over a year ago; it was full of praise for the very person you worked with. I have to think that even if you and she were not the best fit for each other, that should have been identifiable earlier in the process. If you have any proof of that partial refund offer, pursue it.
I know the sting of having to sit on the sidelines for a year. I had a lot of reevaluating to do. Although you may not want to jump into the fray again right now, you should shop around for an admissions expert who might be a better fit for your needs. I would pose some questions in the Profile Evaluations by Experts forum and see what developed. An informed opinion, especially one that is free, could never hurt.

Although you may not want to jump into the fray again right now, you should shop around for an admissions expert who might be a better fit for your needs. I would pose some questions in the Profile Evaluations by Experts forum and see what developed. An informed opinion, especially one that is free, could never hurt.
