You have posed some good questions.
1) What are your short term career goals? How does an MS in Accounting help?
2) What are your LT goals- If you intend to pursue an MBA soon, why get an MS before?
3) Why the rush to get an MBA now? I am obviously a proponent of advanced education, but your degree from UCSD is a strong credential in its own right so you are certainly employable without an added credential.
Short term goal: get best job possible, preferably in accountancy. The problem with that is my degree from UCSD isn't very specialized in any field, its very broad. My reasoning for MS is that many students are now taking 5 years to graduate, for me it has been 4, so the extra year seems very plausible, it is like my 5th year AND it will give me the specialization I'm looking for.
Maybe rushing for a MBA now is not the best idea, but for long term goals, I definitely want to get it in 4-5 years. So I guess now a question is whether I should forget the MS and find a job right after graduation, gain the work experience then get an MBA or still go for the MS then MBA down the road from there.
