Hi guys, I am new to the forum. Super excited! I just got admitted to both ESMT Berlin and HHL Leipzig. Both programs are Master in Management, but HHL focuses more on finance. I am struggling to decide on two quite attractive programs. I have a German minor at the university, and my long-term aim is to work in the finance or consulting industry in Germany. Would anyone like to give me some suggestions? Thank you so much!

Hi there!! Congratulations on your admit! Happy for you!!

I spoke to a current student at ESMT Berlin a few months ago, and as per their experience, the program is much more international compared to the other courses taught at other German universities. They had only good experiences to share. In my opinion, you would be able to transition to finance or consulting at either of the places.

I might be biased here and say ESMT Berlin is a better school simply because I've only spoken to people from that college and none from HHL. ESMT is located in Berlin and that is a huge pro.

Curriculum wise, there isnt so so much a difference.

The questions that might help you decide better:
1) What kind of an environment would you wish to study in? ESMT is more international in that perspective.
2) Does the city matter to you? You might want to consider that
3) What makes more sense financially?

Lastly, I highly recommend speaking to current students directly to gain a deeper clarity on this.

Congratulations once again and have fun in Germany either way!!

Thank you so much for the response! I am still waiting for the admission result from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. I rank my future career path in such order: finance --> management consulting --> marketing, as I double major in finance and marketing. If I get the offer from Frankfurt School, I will definitely go there. If not, I will probably need to think a bit more. I am talking to students from both schools. An insight I got from ESMT alumni is that ESMT Berlin is not too competitive in the finance field. It may be a better choice for future management consultants tho. Ahhhhhhh! Super struggling!

Sounds like a plan!!

I love FSFM's 3 day study and 3 day work model.

Wish you the best!! I hope you hear back soon!
