BGD412
Hi everyone! I took the GMAT Focus 2 days ago and already got my official score report. The total score is 625: 77QR, 82DI, 84 Verbal. I am in my final year of my bachelor in Economics and Business Economics at University of Amsterdam, with a specialisation in Finance. Currently, I am taking a minor in Econometrics and I am on my way of graduating with an honours-cum laude. My GPA is 8.9/10, which is equivalent to a UK grade of A+. I believe this GPA puts me in the 10th percentile of my entire course. I have some working experience. I worked as a Financial Analyst this summer in my home country for a real estate company. Besides my studies, I am the Financial Director at one student organisation and a Treasurer at another student organisation. I have Bocconi as one of my choices because I am genuinely interested in their program and I think it provides a very strong addition to my knowledge of Finance and another criteria is the location. Milano in my opinion is an amazing city and I would love living there. I understand that my QR score is not that great and that it might negatively impact my application. However, I hope that my academic background, my limited work experience, and my extra-curriculars will balance the negatives of the poor QR score. Please let me know what you think. Thank you!
Hi
BGD412Your overall academic score of 8.9/10 (equivalent to a UK grade of A+) demonstrates an excellent academic foundation. Your specialization in Finance and minor in Econometrics align well with the requirements of Bocconi's MSc Finance program. Your involvement in student organizations as Financial Director and Treasurer shows your leadership and organizational skills. While limited, your experience as a Financial Analyst in a real estate company provides valuable practical exposure.
While your overall GMAT score is respectable, your Quantitative score of 77 might be a concern for Bocconi, which is known for its rigorous quantitative focus.
We recommend emphasizing your academic achievements, coursework, extracurricular activities, and work experience in your application materials. You can briefly acknowledge your Quantitative score in your application essay or optional statement, and explain how you plan to overcome any potential challenges in the program.
While Bocconi is a prestigious choice, explore other top-ranked programs that may be more accepting of your GMAT Quantitative score.
