SiM St.Gallen vs Yale/HEC M2M vs LBS GMiM

Question

Okay so I got this tough decision to make in the near future of actually choosing a Master in Management for this Fall.

I got accepted into St.Gallen, and the other two are still open but I'm very sure after the interviews that I'm in the other programs as well.

Now my dilemma is which one to choose from. Since I am German, Switzerland seems the best cost/value ratio actually with the tuition fees lying at ~10k while compared to the other programs (HEC/Yale: 120k vs LBS: 70k), so I am genuinely questioning myself if it would be worth it to take on a credit to study at Yale for example in case I dont secure a scholarship.

I could see myself working in Consulting and exiting to PE in the long term, preferrably either in Switzerland should i stay here or America.

What would be your decision and why?

St. Gallen offers top-tier consulting placement in DACH with minimal debt, while HEC/LBS/Yale provide stronger global networks, especially for breaking into US PE. If you aim for Europe long-term, St. Gallen is a smart, cost-effective choice. However, if the US is a priority, Yale’s brand could help, but only if the debt is manageable. If no scholarship, I'd lean toward St. Gallen unless the premium network of Yale/HEC/LBS clearly outweighs the financial burden.

Thank you for your message, I think the same as of now, would you consider doing the HEC/Yale M2M if a 50% merit scholarship was awarded or not?

I'm not sure if the financial burden is actually worth the commitment, since its hard for me to really gauge the added value of the Yale and HEC community.

Hi zhwang interesting dilemma, and a good one to have (probably). Be inclined to pick the Yale/HEC M2M only for US visa benefits in case you want to explore opportunities in the US right after the M2M. It won’t be too easy either because one year is short, unless, of course, you are somewhat of a go-getter and a networker. The St. Gallen program, at just 10K, sounds unreal. If I were you, I would take that (St. Gallen) and travel the world with the rest of my savings.

Congratulations for getting into St. Gallen’s MiM program. Not only the program is globally ranked it is a great school for consulting as a career in Europe. The cost and reputation makes it the best choice.

If cost os attending a program is not a problem, then you can always choose a brand like Yale, which will not only get you opportunities in Consulting but also open doors in the PE sector. Yale will also additionally benefit you with their massive alumni network.

Drawing parallel to HEC and LBS with St Gallen, I would suggest you to go for St. Gallen MiM.
