I wrote down unfamiliar Barrons words in a notebook with mneumonics and an example sentence. I kept revising this. I made flashcards of words that I couldnt retain even after 2-3 revisions.

I found flashcards the most effective method in memorising words.

When are you planning to take the exam?

I have given the exam twice and based on my experience, learning Barrons words is the foundation to Verbal section. It takes multiple revisions to memorise, but once you are done with that, rest of it is a lot easier.

All the best !

I scored 1310 (740 Q, 570 V, 4.5 AWA) in first attempt and 1520 ( 800 Q, 720 V, 4.5 AWA) in 2nd attempt.

I have posted my GRE debrief in https://gmatclub.com/forum/1520-my-gre-exam-retake-107809.html.

I read ten words every day at work, taking little breaks throughout my schedule. Then I would reread them the next day and move on to the next set.

When I was learning these words, I used to write down the words which I couldnt remember in the first attempt and then revise them daily..

It really helped...
