Hello ,
I am planning to write Gmat in this month.
I was going to book dates yesterday, before that I took the Gmat prep - test 2. Got a score of 640- Q50 V 27
I am aiming for a score greater than 720.
Here is the summary of my studies
3weeks b4 - Gmat prep -test 1 - 640
2 week b4 - Kaplan free test - 620
1 week b4 - Manhattan free test - 700 - q49 v 32
yesterday - GMAT prep -test 2 -640 q50 v27
I was hoping for a score greater than 700 in the last test. I have actually prepared well for the main exam, and was ready to give it in a weeks time, but the last score really confused me.
I made 6 mistakes each in SC , CR and RC in that. and I also had trouble with time and i was compelled to guess last 3 answers in verbal sectio, out of which 2 went wrong.
As I said in the beginning, I really want a score above 720.Kindly advice on what should I do.

GMAT Prep does have the greatest correlation with the real GMAT score but it does also have an issue with the standard error rate - there is a 40 point error, so the first time you got 640, you may have had 600 and the second time you got 640, you may have had 680.
Either way, 720 is ways away - I would do more studying if you have to get 700 score as you don't have it right now.
However, the bigger question is, do you need 700+? Or would you have a greater chance improving your essays and putting this study time into applications?

thnx for the response, yes i have considered whether a 700+ is required or not, and ya ...a 720 will be really req for the colgs i am aiming for.
I reviewed my last test again sterday( with a more relaxed mind), here is the result
Q 50 - 7 errors ( i think q50 is really good score in quant)
v 27 - 17 errors
SC - 7 errors, RC - 7 errors , CR - 3 errors
I usually never make mistakes in CR, and since i didnt get time to read the last 2 questions, i got 2 erros in CR.
In RC I made 7 errors in 12 questions...that is like the WEAKEST section of mine... lack of proper guide and pratice material is the reason for this...
SC, even though i made 7 mistakes, in 4 of them, i came down to 2 possible answers and opted the wrong one...if i cud have been lil more realxed ( becse, i wrked 8 hrs and went home , took half an hour rest and wrote the exm), i would have corrected them.
As u advised, i will study more. But could you tell me , if the re-attempt of Gmat prep will give a good correlation to real score...what is the error factor for that?
