Hi,
I just took the GMAT for the first time and received a 740 (Q42, V50). While I'm happy with the overall score, I was really disappointed by my quantitative score. I have a strong history of quant work in academics (3.8 GPA from a top school - and most grades in quant classes in the A range). I also worked for two years at a consulting firm in a position that required a lot of quantitative analysis. My current job is quite different - I lead mountaineering, climbing and backpacking expeditions for a reputable outdoor leadership and skills school. I know that this makes me a "unique" applicant, but I believe I can tell my story well enough to make my work experience and job goals make sense. Any thoughts on my GMAT scores? On one hand, I'm not sure it's worth the time and resources to retake a 740 GMAT, but I'm seriously concerned that my quant score will raise red flags. I had a bad quant section - sort of felt thrown off by the first few questions and panicked a bit... I am looking at top tier business schools.
Thank for taking the time to consider my questions. I appreciate your help.
