Hi Experts,
I want to discuss one major query with you all.
Actually I did my B.Tech in mechanical engineering in the year 2010 after which I moved to writing field (writing of mechanical engineering subject content). Right now also I am working in this field and have a total work experience of 2 years 8 months. I worked at 2 companies - for 1 year 1 month at Kogent Learning Solutions (a unit of Wiley India Publishing House) and for 1 year 7 months at Dragonfly Education Pvt Ltd (a startup).
My basic aim to do MBA is to change my line (currently I have WRITING field) and to move in another line. I have a keen interest in Food Business. I want to open my chain of restaurants in whole India. Right now, I have become so passionate that I want to leave my current job and begin my startup.
I assume that starting only 1 restaurant can be done without an MBA but starting a chain of restaurants would require an MBA. So, my question to you is that if I leave my current job (of work ex 2.8 yrs), then take a gap of 2 months to give GMAT and at the starting of Jan 2014 - open my restaurant, then would that affect my application to B-School (If I submit in around Aug 2014)?
Would the career switch from Writing to Food Business pose a negative impact on my application? Will my work experience be counted as a whole or will it be counted only for my work in my restaurant startup?
At the end, it would be great if you can suggest me some of the good B-Schools that can suit to my application - Restaurant Management.
