I got into one of my top choices with a 680 GMAT (Q49 V34)
While I'm happy about this, a part of me wants to achieve a score that I can list on my resume for recruiting purposes. I also have a feeling that my GMAT score will be asked about throughout my career at interviews. Is it worth making the effort to try to raise it above 700 or is it a waste of time and money?
A 20-30 point difference in your GMAT score will make no difference to your profile at all. For any job, it will never come down to your GMAT score - he has 680, the other has 700, take the other! No, not will not happen!
After your MBA and first job, you will probably remove the GMAT score from your resume because there will be much more to write and GMAT score will not have much relevance.
If you have got into one of your top choices, great! Put your efforts into preparing yourself for the ordeal and fun ahead.
