Hello Everyone,
I am writing this basically to seek some help and suggestions from the forum. I have been reading the success stories for a while now and it really inspires me to work hard for Gmat Prep. I have been studying for more than 4 months now, but have not made any progress so far in my Score.
My target score is 650 +/- 20.
I am currently not working and focusing mainly on Gmat prep only. In the past, I have taken Kaplan online classes, and Kaplan practice tests as well it has helped me to understand the fundamentals and they provided great online resources as well.
I have already given official test one time
Official Exam Taken on April 10, 2014 and my score was
450 – Quant 29/ 21st percentile, Verbal 22/29 percentile, AWA -5/6, and IR: 6 (I studied whole day and night, written two mock exam and did not sleep at all. Just went directly to give an exam. I regret that but I have learned a lesson in a hard way)
I have taken many mock exams, but only kept track of the few scores which are below:
CAT Score Quant Verbal
CAT 1 510 40 17
CAT 2 480 33 19
CAT 3 560 39 29
CAT 4 590 44 27
CAT 5 580 42 27
Below is the analysis table of how many correct questions I get
CR RC SC
8 of 14 7 of 14 5 of 13
11 of 15 3 of 13 5 of 13
5 of 14 6 of 12 6 of 13
1. I am aware that Verbal needs improvement, but believe me I am doing good in practice, but don’t understand what happens when it comes to mock exam. I am non-native
2. I have heard about “e-gmat” classes which they advertise on the forum as well as on their website that it makes a difference in verbal, but to be honest I am now skeptical and not sure what to do with that.
3. I am planning to book my test date end of May 2014 as I am targeting one business school program which starts in Mid June 2014 and already submitted my application, but it’s subject to Gmat score of 650+ as my other areas in applications are good they are considering me .
Please kindly advise and provide any constructive feedback if you can. I welcome suggestions
Thank you in advance for taking out time and reading my concerns.
