Hi!
All GMAT aspirants must be aware that there are 3 main official sources for GMAT prep: The OG, OG for verbal review and OG for quant review. From what I have read elsewhere one must finish the OG before doing anything else. I have done this myself.
My question is should the verbal and quant review be left for the last few weeks of prep? Also should the GMATPREP question pack 1 be left for the last too?
Kindly give your feedback and also mention how many weeks before the exam should one start working on these 3 official practice sources.
Thanks!!
My opinion is a little different. I would advise you to first go through fundamentals properly from some good test prep material. OGs and guides do not provide theory; they just give practice questions. Also, if you go through the tons of practice questions that test prep companies provide, you don't need Verbal review and Quant Review. OG and GMAT Prep question pack along with GMAT official prep tests and practice tests of prep companies should be enough. If you are comfortable with OG questions, that pretty much covers verbal and quant review.
So here is how I will suggest you to proceed:
Start with test prep material, do all their questions (HW, assignments etc), check out OG - you should be quite comfortable at this time, then GMAT prep question pack 1 and full length practice tests.
How many weeks before depends on how many weeks you have before you want to take the test but keep a month for the official material and practice tests.
