Hi, I am Rahul
Got 650 on my first attempt. Quant=42, Verbal=36
Target is 740+
As an economics graduate, I was a little shocked as I am not that bad at Maths. 42 definitely understated my capabilities. And, I am targeting at least 40 in Verbal.
Quant -:
Problem with Quants is that I know all the concepts, but when it comes to solving the problems within the given time, i end up making a mess. I always had timing problem even in my practice mocks where somehow i did manage 46-47. My weak areas were Word problems and Inequalities. I am planning on solving a lot more problems in quants this time, something that I ignored previously. Any specific books that i can refer to or any specific way of approaching my weak areas or timing issue?
Verbal -:
I am good with SC (Approx. 85% accuracy). However, CR and mainly RC pulls me down!
What books to refer for CR? my main weakness is the weakening questions and the inference questions.
What else can i do about RC apart from reading more? again, inference questions just kill me.
For, my first attempt, i read through 8 Manhattan guides. I solved whole of SC part of my OG-13 and approx. 50% of each of Quant, CR and RC. And solved 6-7 mock tests (kaplan and manhattan), getting approx 660-670.
Any ideas on what to do about Quant, CR and RC? Should I join a coaching institute? I spoke to someone who said coaching wont help getting beyond 670-680. I myself should make an effort or look for a personalised coaching that can help me on my weaknesses and not do the whole course again.
Any suggestions?
