Hi,
I recently took my GMAT prep practice exam and much to my disappointment I scored only a 360 on the test (4IR, 14Q, 24V). Maths has always been a sore point for me and while taking the test I understood that my basics were severely challenged, I was however mighty surprised at my poor verbal score which I thought to be a strength. Anyway I really wanted to sit down and focus on improving my score, need some guidance on that.
Here's an analysis of my test-
Integrated Reasoning- Extremely tough, it took me a long to time to interpret the questions and I was only able to answer 8/12 (ran out of time). Longer question formats were taxing.
Quantitative- Was able to manage more problem solving questions than data sufficiency ones. However I could definitely sense the basics were quite weak as at places I was just plain guessing.
Verbal- RC passages (Got one whole passage wrong completely) and Critical Reasoning were weak areas.
Now I have a full time job which only gives me about 1.5 hrs on weekdays + weekends to prepare. I'm targeting at least 700+ score on GMAT which I plan to give end of August '14.
Wanted to understand first is it possible to improve your score by such a huge in margin in just under 10 weeks? Second, How should one approach the preparation especially with a weak math background. I understand that to score well in 75% of the exam (Quant+ IR) Its important to have a solid ground in this area. What would be the ideal study plan?
Pls help!
cheers
