Your score is valid for 5 years -- earlier is usually better - here's why: https://www.new.gmatpill.com/gmat-prep-a ... ly-better/

Overtime, things will get in the way -- whether it's work-related or personal issues. Ideally the best time to take it is in between jobs or shortly after graduation before your first job.

But even if you don't see any transitional periods in the near future -- you can still knock it out by really focusing for a 1-1.5 month period. Once that's done, you can have the confidence to proceed with the rest of the application process.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply! That definitely looks like a solid plan. I was having a hard time developing a clear plan of action for myself still being in the preliminary stages of the process.

That is the reason I suggested you to take a diagnostic. That will tell you the areas in which you need some solid work. Accordingly, you can plan your time. In any case, reading extensively is a must.
