Hi,
I gave GMAT today and scored 690 (Q 49 and V 34) and 6 in IR, and I think I have written a well arranged AWA.
My profile is 9+ years in IT working with SUNGARD in process consulting. I have had some short term onsite experiences in US, Singapore and China. I am married.
I need some genuine suggestions. I intend not to retake the exam now (although scored a 710 and 750 in GMAT Prep 1 and Prep 2 respectively) and concentrate more on applications and interviews. I wish I scored more
but this was my second attempt and don't want to put more energy in retaking GMAT again.
I am currently based out of Pune, India. So basically want to know if I put in a solid effort in my applications and interviews, then in which all colleges I stand a better chance.
As you can understand, I have a lot of questions and would want them to be addressed through the right channel.
PS: Can I target ISB Hyderabad/Mohali, IIMA-B-C and some top universities in UK and US? If not, then what?

Hi Nitin,
Congrats on the score! I think overall you have good work experience (9 years) and score to apply for the colleges that you're targeting. However, considering that you're an India Male with work experience in IT, a 690 might not be a good score. As you can expect, you belong to a very huge applicant pool and differentiating yourself from the others would be a big task. Also, this applicant pool usually has a high average GMAT score of 720+.
So in order to help your chances, I would recommend giving the GMAT again and targeting the mid-700 score. This would be possible considering the type of scores you've got in your mocks. Maybe you couldn't perform to your potential on the exam day, but that doesn't mean you can achieve a mid-700 score. I would recommend that you consider retaking.

Thanks for the kind words buddy. I am really thinking of giving it another shot. Although I have started preparing my applications, but I will give one more attempt within 10-15 days not more than that. I will just revise the OG13 and my personal SC, CR & Math notes.
