SC Best Resource

Question

Hi All,

After so many hours of preparation,I feel comfortable with all the topics of gmat except SC.As non native speaker.I was struggling in this part. I know e-gmat will be the first suggestive approach. But it costs ( 12000 INR) which i cant afford. Please help in suggesting the best resource to crack sc.

Hi Tarak,

If budget is a constraint, I would suggest going for one of the following 2 resources:

1) Manhattan GMAT SC guide - really one of the best SC resources available. Should not cost more than 25-30 dollars. Also, you will get access to 6 MGMAT mock exams as well, so it's definitely worth the cost.

2) Aristotle Prep SC Grail 3rd edition - Another awesome book (costs less too). This is more concise than MGMAT SC book, but definitely a great resource to learn.

Check these 2 out, and get either one of them to work on your SC skills.

MGMAT SC is a gem. If you don't have the financial resources to get hold of a hard copy, look real good for it on the internet. Otherwise you can use one the great summaries constructed by GMAT-CLUB users.

Regardless of which resource you use, you will also want to spend some time reviewing Official Guide problems for better understanding. As with all of Verbal, SC really requires you to analyze the answer choices carefully, noticing small differences. After your initial timed experience with a problem, it's important to go back and understand why each answer choice is right or wrong. Don't count yourself as done studying that problem until you've understood it thoroughly in this way. Of course, since your understanding of SC will get deeper as you study, you may need to come back to the same problem several times to view it at different levels. ("Oh, this problem isn't just about subject-verb agreement. It's also about modifiers!")
