My score was 350, Verbal 21, Quant 16, & IR 2. Despite the low scores I got a 6 on Writing though.
My question is whether it is possible to score a 400 just by improving on my math section alone. Like by only getting more than half of math section correct, would that add 50 points to become a 400 score on the GMAT? Assuming the rest of my scores remain the same that is. My goal of 400 is low because that is the score I need since my GPA is already very high. Also, when I took the test, I didn't study at all. So I know I need to review my math. I want to spend the least amount of time on preparing for my next test, so I'm thinking of only reviewing the math section. If anyone can tell me if that is enough to get a 400, I would really appreciate it, because I have only a few weeks to prepare for it. So I really don't have time to take a full practice exam just to see if reviewing the math section will help or not.

What colleges are you aiming for?
I'm sorry to be blunt but a score of 400 will be extremely low even if you have a 4.0 GPA.
And it is possible to score closer to 500-550 or even 600 if your half Quant questions are correct. It all depends how difficult the questions are. My suggestion would be to download the GMATPrep software and try a few simulations with the tests. Even if you don't want to solve the test, you'll be able to find all the answers online so that you can run through the practice test in 10 minutes or so.
If I were to advise you, my suggestion would be to take at least one practice test and brush up on the basic concepts you lack in. Most schools might listen to and believe a story regarding the low GPA but they will be much less forgiving for a sub 550 or so GMAT score.

Thank you for your reply. The college I'm aiming for is a public college that only requires min of 400 on GMAT and 3.0 GPA, the way they do it is like this --> min 400 + (GPA*200) > 950, so with my GPA and min of 400 GMAT, it's already over 950 points, plus I'm already starting to take a few of the grad courses here so they are only waiting on my GMAT scores. So that's why the low goal of 400, although I know I can get higher if I study everything properly.
I've actually bought the GMAT Premier book with Kaplan, so I'm just going to use that to review my math. Thank you for replying and it's good to know that I can score higher than 400 if I get half the Quant section right.....but what if half of the Quant I got right are all easy to medium problems? What if I miss all the hard question but get the rest right? Will that still be above a 400 on Gmat? Thanks!
