Hi! So here is my GMAT story. I took the GMAT twice and got a 420 and 460 (did not study that much for either). I enrolled in the MGMAT 9 Week prep course and saw my CAT Score go from a 480 to a 580. I just took my first GMAT Prep test since that one is very close to the real thing and got a 450!!! WHAT GIVES? I just got the MGMAT CAT score of 580 2 weeks ago. Why is my score 130 points lower?I am supposed to take the GMAT in one week, but am extremely discouraged by the 450 score from GMAT Prep.

Side Note: I did not do Essay/IR with my MGMAT CAT, I did with my GMAT Prep. Can that really make the score flucuate 130 points?

Any advice on what I should do? (Reschedule GMAT appointment?) Study Tips for the future? Any input would be greatly appreciated! :)

There is always variation on your practice exams, but it's definitely not typical to see that significant of a variation on practice exams from any source. The fact that you added the essay and IR can cause your score to dip, but not by that amount. Did one section decrease more than another? Did you run out of time on any section? Did you run out of stamina before you finished the exam?

Since you are within a week of your GMAT, there is no reason to reschedule your exam because you will forfeit the entire cost of the exam. You may consider taking another practice exam before your actual test to see if your last CAT was just an aberration.
