Critical Thinking- Need advice!!

Hi fellas ! I am in the middle of my GMAT preparation. I am facing difficulty in Critical Reasoning section. :oops:

I completed e-gmat course to cement the basics and practiced problems from OG13 and Verbal review. But in spite of all this, my accuracy is not improving in this section. It is constant at around dismal 50%. :madd

Even though my accuracy in other sections is not so commendable, but I certainly see improvement after I put in some effort. But unfortunately, I see no improvement in CR section. I am not sure if there is a gap in my understanding, but I believe I have tried to read and re read the fundamentals, traps ,tips and tricks around critical reasoning. I am particularly having a hard time in solving the assumption questions as I find it difficult to spot a logical gap between premises and conclusion in passages that are large with convoluted information.

I desperately need some help here as CR has become a stumbling block in my GMAT preparation. I would be more than happy if some one can share some wisdom on how to improve in this section. Any online practice source , tips and tricks are more than welcome. Good luck to other GMAT aspirants!! And thanks in advance.

I take too much time in solving CR questions. It's very difficult to get the answer under 2 mins. Any practical approach to improve speed?

As you said, you are facing problems in understanding CR. Till the time you do not get conceptual clarity, you would end up wasting too much time on the questions. Don't worry about timing right now. Focus on building the basics well. Identify the conclusions in strengthen/weaken questions and try to strengthen/weaken those. Actively look for the gap in assumption questions. Look for two different viewpoints in the paradox questions and try to pre-think what you expect from the correct option. Know what to do in each question type. 
Once you are comfortable with solving the questions, time taken will automatically reduce too. You can also actively try to go faster but not right now.
