Hi Guys,
This is my first post on this forum.
I am an IT professional with 5 yr of work ex. I am facing a stagnation in my career and seeking a change. I have started with the gmat prep few days back.
Basically I am targeting B schools in india as I dont want to study abroad. My dilemma is which MBA to pursue.
I have around 2.5 yrs of retail Banking domain ex and another 2.5 in invenstment banking. But being a software engg. , I am into technical side of things and dont have much domain knowledge .
I would love to have advice from you guys on the following points :
1) If I have technical exp in any domain, does it make sense to pursue higher education in that only. Like would I benefit if I look out for MBA in finance/banking domain keeping in mind that i dont have "actual" experience in those.
2) Or would it be better to look out for opportunities in MBA IT only?
3) I try to think this decision as a career change kind of thing. So if I look at it like that, shall I go for any specialization I am willing to go into . Say if I am more interested in marketing or HR or Operations.
4) And how does a persons work ex gets evaluated ? I mean, is it just a criteria for admissions or more ? Like in case , i decide to opt for a completely different course (from my work ex) , does it voids my experience and does it effect my placement in the end ?
