Hi goingwest,

While there isn't anything inherently "wrong" with what you're suggesting, it's not likely to lead to a successful result.

Studying for the GMAT is a big task. To score at a high level requires a significant amount of time, energy and resources. What you're describing doesn't seem to allow for any of that. To do this the proper way (and earn a score that would make Business Schools 'happy') requires 3 months (or more) of consistent study time. You seem to have 'stumbled' into this idea of wanting to earn an MBA from a highly ranked program, but you haven't given yourself enough time to put in the necessary work (to prep for the GMAT and to work on your applications).

There's really no harm in the attempt, but if you're really serious about maximizing your chances, then you need to look at a broader timeline and treat this whole process as an investment in your future. You can focus on studying for the GMAT now, then put together a strong application and apply during Round 1 in the fall of this year (for 2016).

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

Thanks to all of you for your perspectives. I am definitely not going to do the "practice" exam and take a C. Doesn't sound look a good idea at all. I greatly appreciate your help. Thanks again!
