Hello
I took my first gmat exam yesterday and I scored a lousy 590 (Q41, V31). I only had the kaplan premier to study from.
I am going to buy the manhattan gmat book set. I noticed that this set doesn't include the following two books. Is the set enough? Or is it better if i purchase these two quant books as well?
- Foundations of GMAT Math
- Advanced GMAT Quant (Gmat Strategy Guides)

First off, a 590 is above-average, so considering that you appeared to have studied from just one book, you performed about as well as can be expected. Before you purchase any more books, it's important to define a few things:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What is your goal score?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
4) Have you thought about which Schools you want to apply to?
5) How much time have you given yourself to continue studying?
Thankfully, the GMAT is a predictable, standardized Test, so you CAN train to score at a high level.

I have studied for around 3 months. I have a full time job and I also play basketball so I was barely able to squeeze an hour of studying everyday. And I was studying around 3 or 4 hours during the weekend. I did the whole 6 exams they offered, but to be honest i never simulated a real test environment. I used to skip essays (because i am really good at those) and extend the 8 minute break they offered.
I want to enter a really good and reputable business school. I want to study in europe and Insead is on top of my list. Therefore i think i should target a 700+ gmat score to secure a place in a school like insead. Do you agree? I am going to apply by the end of this summer for the september 2016 intake.
Today I purchased the Manhattan gmat book set from amazon. Did I make the right decision? It is going to take 10 days for the books to get delivered, since i live in beirut, so in the meantime I will buy the Kaplan 800 and finish it. This is my new plan now. Do you think it's thorough enough? I want to take the gmat again in mid June.
