Hi dheerajb,

If your Quant skills are as strong as you say they are, then you probably won't need to spend much of the next 2 weeks working on them. Since your Verbal score is what needs the most work, you might consider getting a head-start on some Verbal work before your class starts (you could probably work on SC grammar without too much guidance). In that way, you'll have built up some of that necessary knowledge before you get into the tactical work and practice.

Dear Experts,

Without any preparation, I took the first practice test (GMATPrep) and got a score of 570. I got 21 correct in Quant and 20 in Verbal. It translated to Q47 and V23 respectively. I am not sure if this is the correct calculation. Can someone please help me interpret the results.

Probably I chose the worst time of the day (7:30 onwards), as I was really tired after a full day in office. I may take the second test tomorrow (8 AM onwards). Will that be a good idea or I should prepare for 15-20 days and then take the second prep exam?

Any thoughts???

Regards,
Dheeraj

Don't take the other official test just yet. Take it, say, about a month before your test date. After 2-3 weeks, take the Veritas free test - it will give you an accurate estimate of your score and of course, will let you know your weaknesses so that you can work on them.

Hi Dheeraj,

I don't recommend taking the tests back to back that way. The tests are a measure of your progress and they help guide you throughout your studies. Having started with no preparation (570 is a good start by the way) and then taking a second test without any study again is likely to produce the same results. Take one or two weeks to become familiar with the test and review the content and then have a go at another practice test.

Good luck with your studies!
