Hi schl2,

First off, you should be proud of your 710 on the GMAT. While your low IR and AWA scores might be cause for concern, the best way to get clarity on this is to reach out to the schools you're interested in applying to. Admissions counselors at most business schools will be happy to answer any questions you have about your profile - and doing so might save you from a retake that's not all that necessary. Remember, the GMAT is an important piece of your profile, but not the ONLY piece of your profile. Speak to an admissions counselor to get peace of mind, but also be confident in your entire profile, especially with a 710 to supplement it.

Best,
Rich

I would not worry about retaking the GMAT. You will not get an outright rejection because of it.
Start working on your profile and your essays. Also, choose your recommenders wisely.
Hope this helps.
All the best.

Hi schl2,

With your 710/Q46, you have an outstanding overall score (it's right around the 90th percentile overall), so you should apply to any Business Schools that interests you. Many Schools have publicly stated that they do NOT use the IR score to evaluate applicants, so you probably have nothing to worry about there. Similarly, the 4.0 AWA score is the minimal score that most Business Schools require, so you don't have anything to worry about there either.

Since your questions now seem to be about Admissions, you'll likely find it best to talk with an Admissions Expert. There's a Forum full of them here:
