Hi pairakesh10,

Many Test Takers use a variety of resources during their studies, so the fact that you did so does not necessarily explain the issues that you're having. What you really need a consistent way to 'see' (and respond to) the GMAT. If you're not consistent with your tactics, then you're not likely to score at a high level on Test Day. You also seem to understand some of the mistakes that you made with your first round of studies, so you should be able to better plan for this next round and practice in a more effective way.

Before you invest in any new materials, I'd like to know more about your studies so far and your goals:
1) How long did you study before taking the GMAT the first time?
2) When is your next Test Date?

3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
4) Do you know which Schools you want to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi,
I am currently in process of studying GMAT for 2nd time. My 1st attempt was a disaster with a score of 480!! Q44 and V14. I have made lots of mistake during my 1st attempt.
Following are my study materials:

E-Gmat Verbal live prep
MGMAT Guides
Magoosh
OG 2015 with Quant & Verbal supplement guides.
Gmat club forum and self study.

The mistakes are like, Did not follow 1 particular course. Kept on switching the materials for verbal from e-gmat to Mgmat. I am non native speaker and verbal is huge pain for me.
During my studies, I felt very comfortable with quant and all my mock tests had around Q48-Q49 and V20-V25. But the test was a disaster!! I had also ignored Essay & IR sections.

Anyway, my aim is to get 680+ and I have to do it this time. I would like to know from people who were in my situation and improved their score. I am also planning to purchase a instructor based course (Veritas Prep is my 1st option) so I will have some motivation and I can stick to schedule. Btw, I am a working professional with 7 years of experience. Please advice and help me. Thank you.

Take Q44 and V14 as your baseline score.
Q44 means that all your Math concepts are in place. You can handle all easy and medium questions. But you are faltering at the advanced applications level. Check out our blog for some posts on advanced topics: https://www.gmatclub.com/forum/veritas-prep-resource-links-no-longer-available-399979.html#/categor ... mat-quant/

V14 means that the Verbal concepts are lacking. You will need some thorough work here. Check out our SC video for some tips: https://www.gmatclub.com/forum/veritas-prep-resource-links-no-longer-available-399979.html#/

Here is a link that discusses our philosophy and approach in action: https://www.gmatclub.com/forum/veritas-prep-resource-links-no-longer-available-399979.html#/gmat-curriculum/

Many people make the 500 to 700 jump successfully. If you are looking for feedback from test takers, put up your post in the General GMAT Questions forum too (this is Ask Experts forum).

Dear pairakesh10,
I'm happy to respond. :-) This is Mike McGarry, the voice of all the math & SC video lessons on Magoosh. I am glad to hear that Magoosh is one of the materials you are using.
