Hi manshul1807,

The specific deadlines/scholarship information for each School is something that you'll have to research.

The Admissions Experts might be able to offer some insight into these areas. There's a Forum full of them here:

ask-admission-consultants-124/

Given the general pattern for Round 2 deadlines, and your Official GMAT score, you really need to built up your Verbal skills (and some general tactical skills) - as such, you could focus specifically on the Verbal 'side' of the Course (with a little bit of Quant practice to keep those skills honed) and potentially be ready to retest in 1-2 months.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

Hi,
I gave my gmat today and scored a mere 580. Having prepared for around 6 months, I guess this score represents my failure. Some of my mistakes are as below
1. Lack of Mocks: Gave only 3 mocks in my prep and scored only 580 max and after that I though giving mocks is a waste of time and instead though that practising from different sources was good option.

2. Lack of Consistency: I used to practise the problems from gmatprep, og, egmat, veritas prep in different time interval. Also covered egmat course but I guess it didn't help

3. Lack of Reading: I just read a bit of newspapers and articles.

4. Maybe, Overconfidence

Questions

1. Do I still have a chance to attempt for mba in 2016 considering I am looking for scholarships as I couldn't sponsor the amount of money that mba from abroad asks for.

My Profile

1. Nit Passout in Civil Engineering with an experience of 4 years in project management.

Need your views badly

MBA scholarships are very hard to come by. Your profile should be beyond excellent for the schools to offer you scholarships. You need to bring something unique to the table. If you definitely do need the scholarship, you should ensure that your profile is brilliant in every respect and then some more.

Right now, your overall score is low but at least you have to worry about Verbal only. Q49 is quite good. Just keep up the momentum and you should be at Q50/51. Work hard not only on GMAT Verbal but also on English language. Actively read as much as possible. Ask for outside help if need be.

Taking few mocks is not a mistake. Mocks don't teach you anything. They only test you and hence their value is limited to helping you figure out your weaknesses. They do help in practicing time management and discipline but these issues play a big role only after all other issues are sorted out.
Also, it is not a bad idea to practice from different sources. You get used to various different ways in which questions are framed. But you need to ensure that you check out the fundamentals fully from at least one complete curriculum. Mixing too much on that front is counter productive.
