Hi guys,
I want to pursue my MBA and start preparing for GMAT but there is one major question I have.
I have 4 years of work experience and recently moved to another country about 6 months ago. I have been looking for jobs ever since then but nothing suitable yet. And now I am thinking of preparing for my GMAT without wasting further time. By the time I prepare and give my GMAT will be almost a year break. The question is: Will this break affect my admission process considering I get an average score? How do I overcome or show this in a positive way?
Thanks,
Disha
I am going to go out on a limb here and guess that you moved to another country after getting married (or some such major change). Otherwise, it would be difficult to explain why someone would leave her job and go to another country without a job offer/school admission in hand. If this was indeed the case, you could potentially explain your break as your "see and experience the world, learn about different cultures etc" phase. It is not unheard of to leave your job, take a break to do something about which you are passionate, get back to school and back to work. If you utilise this time to grow as a person, the schools will not hold it against you. Of course, you should talk to a school specific consultant to get a better understanding of how you should present your case.
If that was not the reason, then you will need to explain the adcom the purpose/plan of your break.
I would suggest you to start preparing for GMAT and at the same time, get in touch with a consultant. If there are some steps you can take right now to mitigate the situation, you should get going on them.
