I appeared for GMAT today and only managed to score 660 (Quant : 47 , Verbal : 34 , Integrated Reasoning : 34 ). I have a few specific questions . I wanted to apply to IIM Ahmedabad and Bangalore this year for one year MBA . With the score that i have got and an overall 75% marks in academics combined with 6 years work experience in IT , do i stand any chance of being considered ? Also when i was selecting the schools to send my scores to i did not find IIM Bangalore and XLRI in the list . Did i do something wrong while selecting it ? Also since i failed to select these two schools to send my scores to can i apply to these schools personally once my official score has been released by GMAC ?

Hi Subhayan,
First off, a 660/Q47 is a strong score (it's right around the 80th percentile overall), so while it is likely 'below-average' for the Schools that you've listed, it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. You have to remember that you have to have a strong OVERALL application AND you have to present yourself to each Admissions Committee in the most effective way possible. Since you're ultimately asking Admissions questions though, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of them here:
