I received my official score today and I am extremely disappointed. After a full month (31 days) of studying, approx. 10 Hrs/Day including class+Self study, here is my harvest
- IR: 3
- Q: 13
- V: 22
Total score: 350, 6th percentile!!
* AWA: 6.0 YES, you hear me 6.00 -SURPRISINGLY!
* Studying Material Used:
- Kaplan Prep. Classes, about $ 1200
- Magoosh Premium $ 100
* Practice Test- scores:
- Manhattan: 450
- Veritasprep: 430
I just can't believe it, can't convince myself of reality
I am applying to the Masters (full-time) in Management Information Systems (MIS) at various schools across US and Canada.
Most of the schools I am applying to (especially within Canada require a minimum score of 650). I am considering schools within US because I noticed that they require slightly lower scores, whereas some schools do not mention any specific score range at all.
Since I only have a limited time to be covered under a local charity scholarship (given that I have been admitted to an MBA/MIS program), I was thinking that I might really need to consider other programs that do not require GMAT.
Please advise!

Many Test Takers spend 3 months (or more) on their studies before they hit their 'peak' scores, so it's likely that you just have not put in enough time and effort yet. In addition, studying 10 hours a day is generally NOT an effective way to study for the GMAT; that type of 'cramming' rarely leads to a high score result. Studying in that fashion for 31 days also likely caused some 'burn out.'
Raising a 350 to a 650+ would be a big challenge and would likely take at least another 3 months of consistent, guided study.
Since your whole situation seems focused on getting accepted to a School (any School) so that you can take advantage of the Scholarship you've mentioned, it would help if you provided more information about the details of the Scholarship:
1) How late can you apply and still receive the Scholarship?
2) Are there any other 'restrictions' to the Scholarship?
Since many Schools/Programs require an 'acceptable' GMAT score as part of the application, the possible Schools that do not require a GMAT Score will be limited (and they will likely not be 'ranked' Schools).
