When they say it limits, what they are saying is all other factors being equal. But they never are, that's the thing, and having a solid GMAT and a stellar application is a far better predictor of getting a scholarship then applying in round 1 without those things. I'm glad you found my post helpful, good luck with the test. Reach out if you need any help with the verbal.

Hi fragrance,

To start, taking 5 practice Tests/CATs in a week was NOT a good idea. Those scores are essentially identical, which means that you didn't do the necessary practice/review/work between Exams to score at a higher level. From here on, you shouldn't take more than 1 FULL CAT (with the Essay and IR sections) per week. It's important to remember that taking lots of CATs will NOT make you a better Test Taker. A CAT is really a 'measuring device' - when used correctly, it will give you a realistic score and help define your strengths and weaknesses, but it will NOT help you to fix any of those weaknesses. To raise your scores, you have to put in the necessary practice and repetitions. The CAT will show you whether your studies are helping you to improve or not.

Based on what you've described, 'your way' of approaching the GMAT has gotten you 'stuck' at this scoring level. To score 720+, you're going to have to make some significant changes to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. This will almost certainly require that you learn/practice some new Tactics and learn to "see" this Exam in a different way.

1) What is the latest that you can take the GMAT and still make your application deadlines?
2) How much time can you commit to studying during a typical week?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
