Hi people,

When I solve the OG RC's (not timed), I tend to achieve 90% accuracy, however, when I attempt a mock or a timed session - my accuracy falls below 75. Any tips on how to overcome this?

How should I practice this part ?

This is normal since you have much time to find necessary information in the passage if you don't keep timing. To improve your speed, you first need to improve your reading skill as well as your vocabulary. Then you need to tighten your time for each passage. For example, you could set goal to keep your time under 5 min for each question, then 3 min for each question, then 2 min,... Note that the most important thing to improve RC is to improve your reading skill first.

But how do I improve my reading skill? I am using Gin's technique which I am comfortable with. Its the timed environment which is a pain for me. Is doing 10-15 RCs back to back within a target time a good approach to improve my RC stamina ?

Also I have a month remaining for my GMAT. Need to pick a technique and start working on it

To improve your reading skill, you could practice reading with any source that you want. The best source is the one that has the same style as GMAT passages have. There are several online resources that you could google easily :-D

If you are in 1 month left to your GMAT test, you shouldn't practice RC without timing as you said. For any test taker who isn't really good at English, RC part is really a nightmare for them since it is too hard to improve RC score. However, if your English skill is good enough, you could find no problem to improve your RC score.

Hence, you need to practice with time immediately because you dont have much time now. Why don't you take any CAT to estimate your current score better? Then you will know which one you should focus on.
