Hi everyone,
I have a question about RC in general. I just finished my last GMATPrep exam with a Verbal Performance of CR 40, SC 31 and RC 25 (Total 31). My test is on Oct 30.
Given that Verbal is my weak area (non-native speaker) I do not expect a brilliant score, but usually the RC part is a lot weaker than the rest. Also, sometimes I am decent - depending on the passages I get. With some passages I feel alright and once I have an overall idea of the topic, my accuracy is good.
But with most of the passages after finishing the reading part I have no idea AT ALL what is going on. That makes it really hard and time consuming to answer questions if I don't manage to find a single sentence that exactly matches the question. The problem usually occurs when I get passages dealing with animal species, bacterias or similar stuff.
Is this a common problem on RC and is there any way to change this "no idea at all" problem? I already finished Manhattans book on RC and tried several techniques I found in the forum but I havent really improved. Also, whats the most effective strategy given my test is in a week? I know theres nothing that makes me a RC god within that time period, but would you recommend to do 10 RCs a day or just focus on improving on other topics (SC etc)?
Many thanks in advance.
