Hi all,
I am currently looking for some advices or opinions regarding my current situation.
Its been a couple of weeks that I've been studying for the Gmat and I recently decided to schedule my exam date for February 16th meaning that I have a bit more than two months left. This morning, I took my first CAT test using the GoGmat platform and scored a low 530 with Q.40 and V.23 . My target score is around 680 meaning that I would have to improve a solid 150 points during this period and clearly in order for this to be possible, I would need to insist a bit more on my verbal part. During the month of January, Im going to start an intense 40 hour private tutored course in order to reach my objective.
I am basically posting on this forum since I would like to hear if such an improvement is possible and if yes, what can I do individually in order to track my progress in a correct manner. I was thinking of doing one CAT exam a week until February and on top of that one hour and half of daily studying.
Thank you all for your time!
Regards,
Vittorio
Hi Vittorio,
Welcome to GMATCLUB! 2 months is good enough to improve your score. It’s a good thing you have taken a GMAT mock. You now know your weaknesses and work on them. If you are willing to study dedicatedly for 2 months, you are sure to achieve your goal. I trust your tutor will be able to help you solidify your base in Quant and Verbal.
To track your progress I believe, taking multiple mocks might help. Apart from the GMATPREP,
Manhattan GMAT tests, Veritas Prep Tests and
Experts Global Mock Tests, in my experience have good verbal and Quant section and will certainly help you point out and improve your weak areas.
Further another advantage of taking many mocks is to build up your stamina. Apart from the GMATPREP tests, taking practice tests of any major GMATPREP company ought to do that.
Lastly I would also encourage you to purchase the latest version of OG, the verbal review and GMATPREP QP1 for some great additional practice.
Hope this helps. All the best.
