GMAT - 640, Ex Google, Facebook & Currently Uber, what are my Chances?

Hi Guys,

I have given my GMAT exam recently and scored 640! - Quant - 48 & Verbal - 30
While I was aiming high my short preparation time of 4 weeks has taken its impact.

I have scores of 90.3, 97, 79 in my school & college and have 5 years of work experience of a Startup, then Google, Facebook & Currently Uber in Consumer Operations and Marketing Data Analytics.

Would be glad to take your advice on choosing between a retake of the exam or proceed with applications.

IMO you need to retake the Gmat. This is because the competition among Indians is very high and Gmat is an important part of the application.

Retake the exam. 680 will put you in an entirely different category, and GREATLY increase your chances. Your professional experience with the big names sounds good, but your GMAT is going to matter to admissions more -- adcoms want to be sure that if they admit you, you will be able to keep up with the work, and a 640 is just too on the fence.

If you are looking at the top ten, a retake is advisable. I would say that 680+ is kind of must except in cases where the rest of the profile is stellar! Ideally, you should aim for 720+. 
More than the name of the company, what matters is your role and how good you are at it, the value addition you brought to the company in your stint there, and how you grew in skill and experience.
