Hello! I am looking for any advice or guidance to help me achieve a score of 600 on my third (it still stings to type) attempt at the GMAT.
The school I am most interested in has a minimum acceptance of 550 37Q 28V (this should be easy!!!)
Background:
I began preparing for my first write in mid-June 2017 - using the Kaplan Online Prep Course (6w program)
My first pre-course CAT with kaplan - with no previous studying/basic knowledge of GMAT structure - I scored 530 (I don't recollect my individual Q and V scores)
For my first write my study materials consisted of Kaplans coursework, Qbank, class based videos and CATS (which I would on average score from 550-590)
Also using the GMATprep CATS I was scoring around 560-580
I was studying a significant amount the weeks building up to test date - 35-40+ hours week? probably more
First GMAT write on September 29 - Score 540 - 31Q 34V 5IR (both verbal and quant lower than any CATS revealed, V usually 40+ and Q 37-40)
I had already booked a trip to travel mid-october to november so I did not continue studying right away. I also work in retail so when I did get home until early January my work-life was quite hectic.
Preparing for second attempt:
I re-took Kaplans Online Prep Course (starting towards the end of November) and continued to utilize all of their resources (which I truly find knowledgable and helpful to studying - despite its reflection in my grade)
I purchased the 2018 OG - where I went through all of the text - *not* all of the practice questions available - its unfortunate for the OG guide adaptive questions that come associated with it on Wiley Efficient Learning - the questions are not correctly computed for fractions/exponents ext. making it very hard to use the program and study efficiently.
I wouldn't say my REAL studying began until Mid-january
This round - my kaplan CATS were scoring well into 600-660 - I assure you this is not from repeat questions as I hadn't tried the tests in months - but maybe from Kaplans question structure similarities? Also the questions on these CATs all showed to range from medium-hard for 90% of them
GMATPrep tests scoring 560-590
Again my studying was a significant amount of time 35++ hours a week
Wrote second test today - February 13th - scored a TERRIFYING 510 - 28Q 32V 5IR
*In summary - I tried to remain super positive going into the testing center the second time, the first write I was beyond nervous - I had been there more than once before (Kaplan gives you a 'live' trial where you actually get to do a mock CAT in the center)
Second write I definitely still had nerves, but I was still calm, prepared and ready to write!
I am hoping to SUCCESSFULLY write my third GMAT attempt within 2-3weeks from today!
Any guidance on things I should change and ways to improve my studying and SCORE would be beyond helpful!!
