Hello everyone!
I am new to GMAT and I am yet to start my preparation. Appeared for a Veritas mock and was seriously bored with the verbal questions as I suck when it comes to reading. Somehow, finished the test and scored a 630. My target is a 750+ and I am planning to appear in june-july 2018.
I have bought the latest set of OG's and the Manhattan set of 10 guides. Was wondering if someone will guide me with the preparation and come out with a 3 months study plan for me. Also, I would like to know the best method to study the mgmat guides and together with the OOG's. Are these material sufficient for a 750+ or do I have to go through some other study materials as well?

I'm sure a 750 is possible, but you'll have to work hard and work strategically.

But I think every individual has to come up with their own custom-tailored study plan. You can find a lot of resources here, and there are specific study plans, but I think it will be up to you to design your own plan that makes the most sense for you.

HI Rohit,
These materials are sufficient for the GMAT preparation, however I will suggest you to take GMAT club test in the last month of your preparation. it really helps in nailing Quant in GMAT. for verbal I will suggest you to stick with Manhattan SC guide . It would be better if you can share your Veritas Mock test Quant and Verbal score.
And don't worry ,if you will handle ur effort for GMAT preparation smartly , you can definetly get a score above 700.

Hi kanhaiyarohit,

You should study for around three months to achieve a good score. It's a good thing you have taken a Mock test. You now know your weaknesses and work on them. If you are willing to study dedicatedly for that period, you are sure to achieve your goal. I believe you may benefit from taking a GMATPREP course.

Your choice of using MGMAT guides for your preparation is great. MGMAT guides are phenomenal and cover the entire syllabus really well. With the pace you mentioned you should be done with the entire set of materials in 1.5 materials. I must add that if you are particularly looking to discover and improve on your weak areas in Quant; a subscription to GMATCLUB tests is the best way to do that. They are indeed phenomenal and will not only pinpoint your weak areas but also help you improve on them.

Also for verbal, I would highly encourage you to consider e-gmat verbal online or the e-gmat verbal live course. They are both amazing courses especially designed for non-natives. They offer almost 25% of their courses for free so you can try out their free trial to decide which one you want to go for. Plus the e-gmat Scholaranium which is included in both the courses is one of the best verbal practice tools in the market.

Further taking multiple mocks might help. Apart from the GMATPREP, Manhattan GMAT tests and Veritas Prep Tests in my experience have a good verbal and Quant section and will certainly help you point out and improve your weak areas.

Further another advantage of taking many mocks is to build up your stamina. Apart from the GMATPREP tests, taking practise tests of any major GMATPREP company ought to do that.

I would also encourage you to purchase the latest version of OG and the verbal review for some great additional practice. Here is a link that will help you with your decision.

Apart from formally practicing RC passages, make extensive reading a habit, over the next few months.
