Hi everyone,
I am facing a dilemma and I would like to hear your past experiences to help me decide what I should do. I have been studying GMAT for the past four months and took 2 real GMAT so far. Unfortunately, I am not happy with the scores I got.
I scored a 700, 710, and 710 for the last three mocks that I took (GMATPrep #2,3, and 4), but ended up in the range of 620-650 on the actual exams. At first, I thought it was the test nerves, but when I got the score on the second exam this past weekend (new, shorter version), I started to doubt myself if I am capable of getting upper 600s or low 700s on exam. I did underestimate GMAT, knowing that I've done fairly well on SATs (8-9 years ago).
Here is the problem. I have a business trip in the next few weeks along with a two-week Europe trip planned in June. This was all planned ahead with the assumption that I'd be done with GMAT by this time around. However, things do not always work out the way you had planned out. One side of me is telling me I should push to re-take before I take off for my vacation or the another side of me is telling me I need a break from studying and re-visit with the refreshed mind in July. I am not as motivated as I was at this point, but I am afraid if I do not finish it now, I will have to start from ground zero again in July.
If you were me, what would you do?
Target schools:
I am specifically looking into part-time programs: Booth, Haas, Kellogg, or Anderson. I went to top public college for my undergraduate in Econ, with a few years of experience at Fortune 100 company and another few years at FANG with a few promotions in between. I will have about 5.5 years of WE by next Fall 2019. I am looking into MBA to accelerate my career within the same company or help me manage people in the next few years.
