Hello friends!
Well, I am on a long journey and definitely need your help.
Since the beginning of 2017 I have started to study for the GMAT. I studied from Jan-April/17, then I took my first exam, which was terrible (590), while the 2 CATs that I took before were above it (620/640). Therefore I took the exam again 1.5 month (~June/17) later and nothing great happened, only improved 20 points (610).
I did'n want to apply for BS last year, I was trying to take the GMAT out of the way earlier but could not do that. From June to November I was really busy at work and could not study. Than from December to May 2018 I back studied and realised that in 2017 I took a wrong strategy, doing a lot of question with little revision. Therefore I understand that in this time I improved my strategy. I took more 2 GMATPrep CATs and score 670/680, however on the exam I scored 660.
Feeling that I did not score my real potential I continued to study and scored 700 and 710 on the two last GMATPrep CATs. Then, 1 week ago I took my 4th GMAT. I was feeling nervous and it was my worst day ever. I scored 590! (AGAIN) And because of that I did not accepted my score.
Now, I have 3 more months to write essays and study again for the GMAT. But I did so many CATs and questions that I do not know how to approach this 5th time.
Could you please help me on this matter? I really need opinions on: (1) Material to use (2) Length of study (3) Strategies to improve.
I will write down some info that might help you all.
GMAT 1 (Apr/17): 590 Q44 V27
GMAT 2 (Jun/17): 610 Q47 V28
GMAT 3 (May/18): 660 Q48 V34
GMAT 4 (Jun/18): 590 (not accepted)
Background: I work on strategy consulting and graduated on production engineering at top university in Brazil. Therefore I do not have problems with Quant.
CATs: I used to study doing mini-CATs, which is doing only Quant and Verbal to test the exam on real timing and pressure. Of course I took full CATs along the way but my problem is that I took ALL CATs in order to test myself in real condition. In other words, I took all Veritas, Manhattan and GMATPrep CATs (sometime more than one time). Bellow are my last full CATs:
Princeton Review: 720 Q50 V37
GMATPrep 5 : 690 Q48 V37
Manhattan :700 Q49 V37
Kaplan : 710 Q49 V38
GMATPrep 6 : 710 Q49 V38
Hope that you guys can give clarity on how to approach this. Initially I am thinking to study ~4 weeks to not over burn my brain an have time to do my essays.
By the way, my goal is 730!
Thank you very much for your help!
Good luck to all!!
