Doubts about official mock test score

Question

I have an official mock test score of 760, with one week to go for the actual test. Is the level of difficulty of the questions in the actual test the same as that of the questions in official mocks? Or is it one notch higher? 
Any help would be appreciated.

In theory, the difficulty of the questions on the official mock tests and that of the questions on the actual GMAT are about the same.

However, particularly in verbal, some people find the questions on the actual GMAT perhaps a bit trickier than the ones they have seen on official practice tests.

Also, the verbal questions have definitely evolved since the first two official practice tests were created. The verbal questions, especially the SC questions, are less rigidly constructed than they were when those tests were created. The verbal questions on today's GMAT are more like those found in the later GMAT Prep tests, GMAT Prep 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Hello,  mayank2110 . I agree with what Marty has written above. I would add that consistency across several official mocks is a better predictor of your score than an isolated result. Moreover, you have to be honest in assessing whether that was a realistic effort. Had you seen any of the questions before, particularly if you had reset the test after an earlier attempt? Did you complete the exam in one sitting, with the same breaks you would be allotted on test day, using the same materials (e.g., noteboard and marker) you would be permitted to use on the real test? Does this result come as a surprise to you, or does it seem consistent with your level of performance from practice? A 760 is a fantastic result. You just want to be sure you are setting yourself up for success in the week to come.

Difficulty level of official mocks and real tests are same. How many of official mocks are attempted?

It would be unrealistic to go into the real test and expect to come out with a 760. The first two official tests consist of older questions where the answer choices were perhaps clearer, especially in verbal. But these tests are still good practice for you.

You can expect to score "well", but how well you do would depend on other things that happen both on days leading to the test and what happens on the day of the test.
