I failed so miserably in my eyes
Don't let that happen. One exam does not define you.

Let us know the details of your attempt: which material did you refer to, what was your Q/V split, how much were you scoring in official mocks, and your ESR.

Things do turn around 99sport. See here how Soumya got a 200 point jump in her score!

I bombed my first GMAT test 580. With a full time pretty demanding job, I still managed to put in a lot of time for studying. Went through a prep course with an instructor, went through all the material 3 times, made flashcards, did pretty well on all OG questions. I was studying to get low 700s but I failed so miserably in my eyes. I don't even know where to start now. I'm so worried I won't even make R2 applications (possibly even R3) for a next Fall start. I wanted to apply to at least Duke, Columbia, JHU type schools.

Hi 99sport,

I think I have replied to the other post of yours. I think it would be better if we can connect over a call and discuss about the study plan you need to make in order to apply for Round 2. We can also look at the things which went wrong previously so that you can work on them to improve your score. Looking forward to hear from you.
