Hi Louis14,

I know you have been at this for a while now. Can you provide some insight on what you have been doing, at least most recently, to study?

Hi Louis14,

A 680/Q48 is a fantastic Score, so while I would certainly follow the suggestion offered by the Admissions Expert you referred to, if you have a strong Overall profile then this Score might be enough to get you into your first-choice School.

Based on your deadlines and Score goal, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on your timeframe and studies so far:

1) What 'brands' of CATs/mocks have you used so far? On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
2) For your next attempt, are you planning to take the At-home GMAT or are you planning to take your GMAT at a Test Facility?
3) Going forward, how many hours do you think you can consistently study each week?

You might also choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report. While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

I just PMed you sir.

Have you studied before? If so, do you have an error log?

My error log on GMATCLUB has almost 2000 questions. I don't know how to manipulate this data and turn it into a useful bit of analysis.

I haven't been studying for the last one month. I stopped studying almost twenty days before the test, and sir, that strategy really worked. :D

GMAC mentions that your actual score is in the +/- 30 points of your actual capability. So, you might already be at 700 level. Maintain your current level of preparation for the next 15 days and appear in the exam. It's likely that you will get 700+.

Within this short time span, I would not recommend any radical change in strategy.

Hi, everyone. I recently took the GMAT and scored a 680 (Q48;V34). I've been told by an admissions consultant that I need to take my score across the 700 mark. I need to get this done in max two weeks because deadlines are right around the corner. I think a major increase in score would have to come from verbal, although I'll try to squeeze another point or two in Quant.

I really am in a need of solid advice as to how should I move forward with this. I'd really appreciate your help.

Thanks so much.

Hey Louis14,

I would love to provide a few tips on how to improve your GMAT score but I would need a few more details and a little background before I can suggest you anything. As you have just two weeks time, I would suggest you to get in touch with me over a call using the below link so that we can have a detailed discussion and quickly work out a proper study plan.

My error log on GMATCLUB has almost 2000 questions. I don't know how to manipulate this data and turn it into a useful bit of analysis.

1. Use only “recent” data
2. Use only official questions
3. Search for patterns in your mistakes
A. Quant/verbal
B. Sc, cr, etc

From this, you might see that from 5, most mistakes comes from x subjects.

Then try to find if they come from specific sub topic.
(This part is harder, but the above ones might already help)
