Hi, I am from Malaysia and planning to sit for GMAT online to apply for business schools in the UK.
I am Chinese and I have both an English and Chinese name. I will use an example name to explain this.
Let's say my name is Alesha Tan Ai Fang. Alesha and Ai Fang are my given names and Tan is my family name/ surname.
On my identity card, it is written as Alesha Tan Ai Fang but in GMAT, since there's only one box for given names, and the surname is at the back, it is registered as Alesha Ai Fang Tan.
Will I still be permitted to sit for the exam although my name placement is different? There's no option in the system to place my surname in the middle, although it's like that for most Chinese names in Malaysia.

Depending the country you will be giving the exam and the identity document allowed , you need to use the name as per the id document ..
I would advise you to use the complete name as given in your passport and use passport as your id on the exam day.

You want to match your name to the document as best as you can.
The official policy is that your name has to match but there’s a lot of vague aspects to it. We have had people who had reversed their names be able to take the test and we have had people who had a middle initial, just one letter and not allowed to take the test. It seems the decisions are based on individual test centers or how the proctor feels that morning or evening.
The safest approach is always to email the support team or better call your local region support number and have them confirm that it’s OK or have them right then on the phone change your name in the profile.
You want to avoid the frustrating experience of having to reschedule and potentially losing the money. It isn’t clear, however, if you get a free reschedule or you have to pay in case the name does not match.
