May be a long shot but you never know what a quick email could do. Requesting a free rescheduling or a small voucher for a retake might work. In your request, consider mentioning the precise moment you are referring to.

Gratz on the 730.

Yes, sorry - I was asking about a free retake. I knew it was unlikely, especially without getting my current score canceled, but it is still unfortunate to hear. I will probably just not worry about it, thanks for the advice!

V42 is by the way a very high score - 96th percentile. While not impossible to improve to V44, it is a tall order. Maybe - perhaps you have awesome verbal skills but I was ecstatic about My V42.
I think this maybe another one of those things that will tip the scales not in your favor... did you get V44 in your practice tests? I think you need to back up your case with more evidence

Unfortunately, I do not think what happened would get you a free retake. That said, 730 is a great score! So, great job!

Hi Yacobb,

You're doing the right thing here. I just don't see them offering anyone a free retake for something like this.

Congrats on the (excellent) score. :)

Hi Yacobb,

First off, a 730/Q48 is an outstanding Score, so you can comfortably apply to any Business Schools that interest you. Depending on the Programs that you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement (and the more time that you have to act on that advice, the better). There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/

As far as the 'disruption' that you described, it is unlikely that this event would be viewed as significant. Whenever a complaint is formally submitted about testing conditions, an investigation occurs (which can sometimes take up to several weeks to conclude). From what you describe, the only actual evidence might be video footage of the Moderator offering you the second marker and then leaving (which maybe amounts to 5-10 seconds of activity that pulled your focus away from your Test; in that way, it's not much different from another Test-taker sneezing really loud or the Compute Lab door slamming shut - neither of which would be grounds for any type of compensation). You can certainly lodge a complaint if you truly feel that it is necessary to do so, but your time would probably be better spent on other activities.
